Overview of the meeting

During the session, provincial leaders presented updates to the government delegation on the achievements made in the first nine months of 2024 in areas such as production, business, construction investment, and import-export activities.

In an open exchange, representatives from the three provinces raised several opinions related to issues such as the appraisal and approval of cost estimates for investment preparation, the mobilization of socialized funding, and investment policies for housing projects—particularly those concerning social housing. Many longstanding, unresolved issues that had been pending with ministries and sectors were also brought up by the provincial representatives. Additionally, new recommendations emerged during the discussion.

At the meeting, under the chair of Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, members of the working group addressed each issue and question raised by the delegates, providing detailed responses based on the recommendations from Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Tien Giang provinces.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi acknowledged the positive contributions made by Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Tien Giang provinces over the past nine months, noting that their achievements have significantly contributed to the country’s overall development. He emphasized that these results lay the foundation for the sustainable development of each province, both now and in the future.

Regarding the various proposals put forward by the provinces, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi stated that many of the recommendations had already been submitted by the Working Group to the Government and relevant ministries. He further noted that several of the issues related to socio-economic challenges had been promptly addressed and resolved.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the timely consideration of recommendations regarding difficulties and obstacles in the socio-economic development process of the provinces, along with the Working Group’s urgent and serious approach in addressing them, had positively contributed to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals in the three provinces over the past two years (2023–2024).

“For any unresolved recommendations, we request that the ministries, sectors, and localities clearly explain the reasons,” Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi stated. “The Working Group will coordinate efforts to compile these issues and report to the Prime Minister for guidance, ensuring they are addressed promptly in accordance with regulations.”
